We welcome Amanda Miller as the (WNEP) Nutrition Education Program Coordinator and Family Living Educator for Fond du Lac and Green Lake Counties. Below is her bio, if you are interested in knowing more about Amanda!

AUTOBIO:

I am originally from our neighboring State of Michigan. Immediately falling in love with Wisconsin, my husband and I ventured here for graduate school and have never left. Eight years later, we have enjoyed living in every corner of the state, and in between!

I have a Master of Public Health from UW-La Crosse, as well as an undergraduate degree in Psychology/Sociology. During graduate school, I was fortunate to collaborate with a leading research hospital to conduct a study that examined the relationship between injury/violence and birth outcome. My pride in this final product has only enhanced my already existing interest in research.

I am particularly dedicated to the health and wellness of children, including pregnancy, early childhood education & development, and parent education.

I have 10 years experience working with diverse families in education, health and social service settings. I have experience with non-profit agencies as a grant writer, teaching at early childhood centers, holding administrative and family service roles at Head Start, and creating multiple agency and community wide programs. I am honored to continue my work with Wisconsin families. My ultimate goal is to help families become healthier and more sustainable through education and empowerment.

I enjoy my large extended family, antiques, biking & hiking, anything British, live music, baking, mystery novels, gardening, camping and the Pack! I maintain a bucket list, which includes writing a children’s book, riding the Orient Express, learning to play the mandolin, backpacking in England/Ireland and spending my retirement lazily hanging out in my very own antique store!

My husband and I have a dog, Tux; a cat, Mr. Pebbles; and a rabbit, Deuce. We are excited to finally make our home in the Fox Valley region.
