Green Lake County Fair Overview
2015 GREEN LAKE COUNTY FAIR DATES: August 6-9, 2015
The Green Lake County Fair is a county-supported Fair that offers a fun, safe, family-friendly event. It is held annually the first weekend of August. The Fair is a long tradition that locals and visitors wait for.
The Fair remains an excellent venue to recognize the youth (and adults) of our County as they demonstrate the skills and knowledge they have acquired. Any resident of Green Lake County can exhibit at the Fair!
4-H kids and families from around the county will compete for blue ribbons, trophies and bragging rights in categories that range from pie baking, flower growing, animal showing, woodworking and photography. There are open classes also for the non-4-H’ers of all ages, live entertainment and music every day, educational programs, track events (Horse Pull, Truck/Tractor Pull, and Demo Derby), carnival (A & P Enterprise Shows) and midway and lots of good quality family-themed activities.
Did we mention food? Food from specially chosen vendors, along with Farm Bureau favorites, ice cream, and the usual BBQ event is outstanding! You can eat your way through this 4-day event and always find more to try.
The Green Lake County Fair is truly a FREE Fair. No gate admission is charged and the idea here is to showcase the youth and their 4-H projects. See bunnies, chickens, ducks, pigs, sheep, cows, horses, cats and dogs. Watch the kids who range in age from elementary school to high school show the animals they have raised at home. See the Livestock Auction and find out who will get to take their animals to the State Fair in Milwaukee. Check out their projects in the Exhibition Building and marvel at how much talent these local kids have.
It’s Wisconsin at its best and it happens all around the state in every one of our 72 counties. The Green Lake County Fair is known as “the best little Fair around” – come and see why!
