4-H is a community of young people across America who are learning leadership, citizenship, and life skills.
University of Wisconsin-Extension programs in 4-H Youth Development give young people opportunities to learn new skills, gain self-confidence and contribute to their communities. Backed by the knowledge and research base of the University of Wisconsin, 4-H Youth Development educators design educational, leadership and citizenship experiences for youth. These programs are delivered directly through more than 20,000 adult volunteers in neighborhood 4-H clubs or groups and by collaborating with other local organizations.

All members in grades six and above are encouraged to consider applying for Older Youth Awards. Did you know you can attend Space Camp in Alabama, or take a trip to Boston, Washington D.C., and more? The cost of these trips is 80% covered by the GLC 4-H Leader's Association, making them a unique opportunity and very affordable. Participant costs range from approximately $50 to $220. Last year, several trips went unattended due to lack of applicants. Why not apply? Scroll up to view the November/December 4-H Focus Newsletter for more details on these trips and awards, and what is required to apply.
